Shatavari is a cousin of the asparagus on your dinner plate, grown for its roots instead of its spears. SRI-81™ is made from the root alone, to the same three numbers every time.
A climbing asparagus whose thick, tuberous roots are the part used in Ayurveda, and the only part that goes into the capsule.
Thirteen parts dried root go into every part of extract, so a single 300 mg capsule carries the equivalent of 3,900 mg of shatavari root.
Shatavarin IV is a compound characteristic of shatavari root. Standardizing to 5.8% puts about 17 mg in every capsule, bottle after bottle.
SRI-81™ has been tested against placebo in three published, double-blind trials: in perimenopause, after menopause, and for sexual wellness. Each gave the same 300 mg a day as Purica Shatavari, for eight weeks, and more than 300 women took part.
Lower scores in perimenopausal women, against 5% on placebo.
Lower scores in women past menopause, against 29% on placebo.
Higher scores after eight weeks, against 19% on placebo.
