Three reasons it belongs in the routine.
Healthy cartilage, maintained
Cartilage is the surface your joints move on, and it's built from what glucosamine supplies. Helping maintain it is the whole job.
The fluid that cushions
Glucosamine is also a building block of synovial fluid — the thick fluid between joint surfaces that absorbs load and keeps movement smooth.
For the joints that carry you
Knees, hips, hands. Glucosamine addresses joint discomfort associated with the breakdown of cartilage — which is what years of hiking, running and stairs come down to.
Same glucosamine. Pick your format.
Once a day is all it takes. Give it at least four weeks of daily use before you judge it.
300 g powder
Half a teaspoon is 1,500 mg; two-thirds of a teaspoon is 2,000 mg. Stir it into water, juice or a smoothie once a day.
180 veggie caps
500 mg each. Three to four capsules, once a day. No measuring, and easy to travel with.

Glucosamine

- Cartilage health
- Joint health issues and maintenance
- Concerns for those seeking non-GMO supplements
Most glucosamine starts as shellfish.
It's normally extracted from crab and shrimp shells. Purica's comes from plant fermentation instead — the same glucosamine hydrochloride, without the shellfish.
If you have a seafood allergy, that's the difference between a joint supplement you can take and one you can't. If you don't, it's simply cleaner sourcing: vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, made on Vancouver Island.
