Why are so many people over-tired and stressed out today?
Research shows there are four factors that contribute to more than 90% of stress related doctor visits.
The four factors are:
- Too much technology
- Too much caffeine
- Too little sleep
- Too little exercise
When these things occur simultaneously in your life, they can add up to potentially create a perfect storm for stress, fatigue, depression, obesity, lung illness, heart disease or even cancer!
Here are some quick tips to try for the next two weeks to reset and get yourself in a more balanced, healthier state of mind for the New Year:
- If you can, leave work at work when your day is done. Turn off electronic devices – especially cell phones — for the evening (or as early as possible before retiring).
- Enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning and then switch to decaf or green tea in the afternoon.
- Hit the gym or the great outdoors and do something physical for 30-60 minutes and then tuck yourself in and get at least 7 hours of sleep per night.
Some of these ideas may sound extreme but just try them for the next 14 days and you will be amazed how fantastic you feel and productive you can be!
