…committed athletes share training tips and best practices to help Purica clients make the most of their active lifestyle and perform at work, play and in life

DUNCAN, B.C. (Wednesday, July 30th, 2014) –Purica is proud to welcome two dedicated Canadian athletes – professional triathlete Adam O’Meara of Victoria and professional global fitness athlete and coach Melissa Tucker of Toronto — to its team of wellness and performance ambassadors.

O’Meara and Tucker are the founding members of Team Purica, an extension of the company’s community-based, educational arm established as a resource for clients and customers across Canada. They will be joined in the coming weeks and months by a cross-section of performance athletes committed to excellence and inspiring healthy, active lifestyles.

“We’re very proud to be associated with Adam O’Meara and Melissa Tucker as part of Team Purica,” said Rod Sidoroff, Vice-President of Business Operations for Purica, the Duncan, B.C.-based natural health food products and supplements company. “We’re inspired ourselves by Adam and Melissa. Their work ethic, gusto for life and commitment to being the best they can be is contagious and we’re confident their enthusiasm will rub off on our active living clients from coast-to-coast-to-coast.”

Tucker brings her wide range of expertise and passion for life to Team Purica. She carries an extensive background in nutrition and holistic wellness, as well in the culinary arts.

“I’m known for my optimism, tenacity and gratitude,” said Tucker. “I strive for balance and that’s the approach I’ll bring to Team Purica. I was first drawn to Purica natural health food products and supplements by what I saw as the company’s very strong reflection of the connections between the body, the mind and the senses.

“I’m happiest inspiring people to build their body from the inside out and to be empowered by achieving optimal health,” said Tucker. “Supporting people in the pursuit of their goals, whether that is a triathlon or weight loss, is what drives me and I look forward to connecting with all members of the Purica family at and on Purica’s social media platforms. I can’t wait to get started.”

O’Meara, the 32-year-old product of Brockville, Ont. was really bit by the triathlon bug after his first Ironman in 2006 in Penticton. A steady progression allowed him to launch his career as a professional in the sport in 2009.  Like Tucker, he aspires to help others lead active lives and has a passion for healthy foods. The married father of one child lets everyone know his favourite foods run the gamut, from sweet potatoes and Mexican food to dark chocolate and the rare piece of carrot cake.

“I’ve been proud to represent Purica as an athlete and a face out in the Victoria community doing demos at our local Victoria retail locations, and I’m now very happy to take things to the next level as a member of Team Purica,” said O’Meara. “I’m pleased to say I was the one who first reached out to them because of how impressed I was with their unsurpassed quality and the results they have delivered for me and many of my friends.

“Since beginning to use Purica products on a daily basis, I have felt a genuine and truly enhanced ability to handle my training on both a physical and mental level,” explained O’Meara. “Given that I use Recovery and Cordyceps extensively, I want to share how and why I use them and being part of Team Purica gives me the platform to do that.”

O’Meara and Tucker will provide Purica clients with a wide range of training, diet and lifestyle tips through the company’s various web-based platforms.

“Adam and Melissa are not only great ambassadors for the Purica family, they’re going to share their best practices in a way that’s easily accessible for our customers,” said Sidoroff.

Clients are encouraged to visit, like and follow for easy access to many of the best practices and training tips which have made Tucker and O’Meara among the very best at what they do.
