I’m among those who believe we are what we repeatedly do. When we think about getting fit, being healthier and more energetic, it’s easy to quickly become overwhelmed. You’ll ask yourself, “Geeze, where do I start? How do I begin? What’s my first step?”
The great news is lasting change is not achieved by changing your whole life overnight! Small daily changes really do yield big results. Remember it took days, week, months, or years to get to where you are now.
Let’s start by just changing one habit. Today, make one substitution in your life to bring you closer to your fitness goal. Just changing one habit for one day is totally doable! If you like how it feels, give it a try again tomorrow.
First we form habits, then they form us!
Here are some to try today:
- Replace a soda with water;
- Read a book or go for a walk instead of watching TV;
- Switch your candy bowl with a fruit bowl;
- Take the stairs rather than the elevator at work or get off two stops early and walk the extra distance;
- Straighten up rather than slouching.
