Overview

Think that heart disease strikes only the middle-aged and elderly? Think again!

Today’s sedentary lifestyles combined with poor diets can lead to clogged arteries in people as young as 18. It’s a frightening thought, but an active lifestyle and healthy eating can help prevent or undo the damage.

To help reduce many of the risk factors that contribute to heart disease, and recognizing that there are many contributing factors, we have carefully formulated a product that can be taken proactively as well as therapeutically. Provascin contains a number of beneficial ingredients that, taken together, produce a synergy that is unmatched in today’s health supplement marketplace.

“When it comes to cardiovascular health, Provascin gets to the heart of the matter. Over three years, we have developed an unmatched formulation that supports the heart in every way.”

— Jason Watkin, founder, Purica

Actions & Uses

Heart disease has no single cause and is best addressed from a number of angles. Provascin is a comprehensive supplement that has been carefully formulated to assist the heart health needs of all adults, male or female, young and old.

The following is a list of Provascin ingredients and their multiple benefits.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a powerful antioxidant that helps to maintain and support cardiovascular health by protecting the cells’ energy factories—the mitochondria. CoQ10 levels steadily rise after birth, peaking at about 20 years of age. After this, they steadily decline.

CoQ10 supplementation also increases the heart’s squeezing action (contractility), enabling the heart to pump blood more efficiently.

CoQ10 is recommended by medical authorities for people taking statin drugs, since statins interfere with CoQ10 production, which increases the potential for heart damage. The inclusion of CoQ10 in this formula plays both a preventive and therapeutic role.

L-carnitine

The amino acid L-carnitine promotes energy production within the cells by transporting fatty acids into the mitochondria. This is particularly helpful within the muscle of the heart, where the mitochondria are dense.

The Mayo Clinic reviewed 13 studies from 1973 to 2012, and determined that L-carnitine has the following benefits:

Compared with placebo or control, L-carnitine is associated with a 27% reduction in all-cause mortality, a 65% reduction in ventricular arrhythmias, and a 40% reduction in anginal symptoms in patients experiencing a heart attack.

Alpha ketoglutaric acid

Although it’s a mouthful to pronounce, its positive effects on the heart are remarkable. Naturally produced in the body, alpha-ketoglutaric acid also plays a key role in the cells’ production of energy. In addition, it actively scavenges free ammonia in the blood, decreasing its damaging effects on the heart, blood vessels, brain, kidneys and other tissues. (Free ammonia levels in the blood increase following physical stress, over-training, trauma and heart attacks.)

Betaine

Homocysteine is an amino acid present in blood plasma. Elevated homocysteine levels in the blood can cause damage to the cells lining the arteries. This leads to inflammation within the blood vessels, in turn leading to atherosclerosis. Betaine neutralizes free homocysteine in the blood, decreasing blood vessel damage.

Chaga

This birch tree fungus is an exceptionally powerful antioxidant with a long history of supporting the heart. Chaga helps normalize cholesterol ratios and decreases stress hormones derived from cholesterol. (Stress hormones lead to damage and inflammation within the arteries, and elevate triglyceride levels.)

Alpha lipoic acid

A powerful antioxidant that is both fat and water soluble, alpha lipoic acid helps regulate blood sugar. This is important as elevated blood glucose causes glycation to take place. Glycation is the bonding of a sugar with a protein. Inside the heart and arteries, glycation causes cross-linking of proteins, which can cause stiffening and substantial damage.

Nutricol

Our proprietary blend of green tea (EGCg) and grapeseed extract, Nutricol is a broad-spectrum antioxidant that inhibits the inflammatory process. In doing so, it further protects the blood vessels and heart. Nutricol is also the primary ingredient in Purica’s flagship formula—RECOVERY®.
