The Peak Performance Creed

Peak performance in life isn’t about succeeding all the time or always being happy. It’s truly about doing the best that you can with what you have right now.

Peak performers are not necessarily the most talented. They just are just more committed to be their best every single day. There will be people that have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do. One of the biggest differences between an average athlete and an elite athlete is that the elite “do” what most other athletes “wish” or “hope” for.

You are not born into the peak performer club. No one is. You need to work your way in. Peak performance requires a relentless commitment to physical, technical and mental development to build a peak performance mindset that will guide your choices, decisions and actions every day. Simply put: Your willingness equals your will power.

If you only ever give 90% in training then, you will only ever get 90% results.

You can’t hit what you don’t see, so visualize your victory and commit to your mission with blind faith in your ability to persevere when the going gets tough. Will there be sacrifices, obstacles and failed attempts along the way? Absolutely!  To be a peak performer you must have faith in the process. See the hours of training, the mental challenges and even the fact that you’re missing some social events as opportunities to learn, grow and develop, not as obstacles.

If you see these hurdles as opportunities to learn, grow and develop the necessary skills to accomplish bigger things, you’ll have a much better chance of making that happen. Instead of responding to challenges with frustration, fear or anxiety, face them head on with a sense of excitement and you will achieve the victory you’ve been training for.

The better you are able to handle adversity and adapt to the challenges, the more consistent your peak performances will be. The peak performance creed — Decide. Commit. Succeed. – is built upon two things you control; deciding and committing.
